Wesley Vernon Munson Jr., 71 of Fort Stockton, Texas passed away on Jan. 17, 2023, in Odessa, Texas.

Wesley was born in El Paso, Texas on July 5, 1951, to Wesley Vernon Munson Sr. and Esther Marie Collier. Wesley was raised and attended school in Sanderson, Texas. Wesley met the love of his life Shirley Gross at a church conference in Fort Worth, Texas in July of 1978. After being rather bashful a short courtship began and they later married on Nov. 11, 1978, in New Castle, Indiana. Wesley worked all his life in the oil and gas industry. Wesley was also known for painting signs and billboards around the Fort Stockton area. Wesley loved BBQs, Mexican food, and most of all he loved spending time with his family.

Wesley was preceded in death by his parents Wesley Vernon Munson Sr. and Esther Marie Collier.

Wesley is survived by his loving wife of 44 years Shirley, son Philip wife Michelle, daughter Hannah and son/grandson Jayden, grandchildren Patrick, Payton, Lincoln and AnaLee.

The pallbearers will be Philip Munson, Jayden Munson, Patrick Murphy, Randy Gross, Andrew Gross, and Eric Cooksey.

Visitation will be Friday, Jan. 27, 2023, from noon to 7 p.m. at Heritage Funeral Home of the Big Bend 301 N. Main St. Fort Stockton, Texas 79735. Funeral service will be Saturday, Jan. 28, 2023, at 9:00 a.m. at the Apostolic Tabernacle 2601 W. Fifth St. Fort Stockton, Texas 79735. Interment to follow at East Hill Cemetery Old Cemetery Rd.
