Sharon Alice Grittman, 77, of Altus, Oklahoma, passed away on Sunday, Feb. 5, 2023 at her home. A celebration of life will take place Saturday, Feb. 25, 2023 from 12-3 p.m. at the VFW #4876 in Altus, Oklahoma. Local arrangements are under the care of the Kincannon Funeral Home and Cremation Service.

Sharon Alice (Glenn) Grittman was born on March 21, 1945 in Fort Stockton, Texas to Roy L., Jr. and Helen Christine (Petty) Glenn. She attended school in Fort Stockton and married Clifton Eugene Grittman on Sept. 20, 1963 in Mexico. The couple eventually moved to Altus, Oklahoma.

Clifton passed away on Feb. 19, 2010.

Sharon worked as a hairdresser for over 36 years before retiring. She did not stay retired long and continued to work for the Tumbleweed, Booterie and SWODA Adult Day Care, finally retiring in 2010. She attended Emmanuel Baptist Church and was a member of the Eagle’s Lodge in Fort Stockton, Texas. Sharon was a lifetime member of the VFW #4876 Ladies Auxiliary. In her spare time, she enjoyed painting, quilting, and bowling. Her greatest memories were of time spent with her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, a daughter, Marilyn Grittman, and two siblings, Morris Glenn and Alexia Glenn.

Survivors include her two daughters, Kristi Kathleen Grittman and Dora Ann (Grittman) Tischler and husband, Bob; 10 grandchildren, Breanne Welker and husband, Tim; Krish Rigdon; Helayna Romero, and husband, Chris; Trenton McDonald; William Tischler and wife, Krista; Joel Tischler; Robert Tischler and wife, Mary Beth; Whitney Tischler and husband, Josh Hogan; Marcus Shadetree, and Chase Grittman Tischler; 17 great grandchildren; four great-great grandchildren; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and a host of friends including a special friend, Linda Raper.

A very special thanks goes out to Suzanne, Terry, Tellie, Kelly, Alicia, and Erin, the compassionate staff and nurses from Jackson County Memorial Hospice for taking care of mom.
