Body

Patricia Ann Schneider was born on Sept. 15, 1939, to Don and Dorothy Bailey in Iraan, Texas. She had 85 years, 5 months, and 3 days in her earthly body.

She is survived by her loving husband Lawrence of 65 years; son Lawrence Michael Schneider and wife Tricia of Buda, Texas; son Stephen Mark Schneider and wife Lauralee Pankonien of Austin, Texas; daughter Dawn Michelle Salazar and husband Sal of Fort Stockton; sister Barbara Orosco and husband Rudy of Houston, Texas; brother John Bailey and wife Lanelle of Lavernia, Texas; nephew John Mason Gilbert and wife Lynn of Manteca, California; grandchildren Blace Pasqua and wife Jacy of San Angelo, Texas; and Bailey Reyes and husband Armando of Midland, Texas; great grandchildren Ava Grace and Eli Paul, and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, Don and Dorothy Bailey; sister Katherine Bailey; brothers Don, Jackie, Jim, Jerry and Bill Bailey.

Most knew her as Pat, her siblings fondly called her Trisha throughout her life. She was born and raised in Iraan, Texas, and spent most of her life there remaining deeply connected with her country upbringing and then raising her own family with the same west Texas values. She grew up in the oil field camps in the hills of Iraan. As a young girl, she and her sister stomped around on stilts to avoid snakes and cactus through the dry countryside, as they tried to keep up with six older brothers. Yes, you heard that right, stilts!

At age 18, Pat was swept off her feet by a handsome man from Albany, Texas. She and Lawrence soon married and began a life together in Iraan, becoming a part of the fabric of a community anchored by Churches, oil fields, ranches, small businesses, local social groups (dominoes, bridge, golf), and of course, the Iraan school system.

Most of all, she loved watching her children in ALL school events and activities. She and Lawrence NEVER missed an event whether it was little league baseball game, a high school marching contest or half time show, football game, track meet, school play or stock show.

As much as she loved her children, she really loved her grandchildren and eventually, her great grandchildren. They were the light of her later life. The energy boost she needed after all the kids left home. They rarely, if ever missed a grandkids event. She was blessed to watch both Blace and Bailey grow into adults, graduate high school, college, get married and bring them two beautiful great grandchildren, Ava Grace and Eli Paul. The grands and great grands truly rounded out her life…What a blessing they were to her!
