The once-a-year opportunity for area residents to have cats and dogs fixed, vaccinated, and microchipped at a low cost in Fort Stockton will be on Saturday, March 11 at the Big Bend Fix 14.

The annual event will take place at the Fort Stockton Convention Center, located at 2181 Interstate 10 Service Road, starting at 9 a.m.

The cost to get an animal fixed, a rabies vaccine, and a parvo/distemper shot is $150. Microchipping will also be available for $10 per animal.

Participating owners must pre-register their animals in order to have their anima(s) l fixed and/or vaccinated.

To pre-register visit Lucky Two Times’ website at luckytwo- times- animal- sanctuary. ueniweb.com, visit their Facebook page or by calling 432--360-3742. No walk-ins will be allowed.

The event is made possible by the Far West Texas Rescue Coalition vet team, the Alpine Humane Society, the City of Fort Stockton, Petco Love and Lucky Two Times Animal Sanctuary and advocacy programs.

“A big kudos to the city for helping us out with the venue, they saved us a lot of money for not charging us to use the building. They’re playing a big part in what we’re doing,” said Michael Luna, Executive Director of Lucky Two Times Animal Sanctuary and Advocacy Programs. “Also, thanks to Petco Love, we can offer these important vaccine events at a no cost to pet owners.”

Parvovirus and distemper in dogs and panleukopenia in cats — the most prevalent deadly diseases affecting pets — are preventable with a simple vaccine. An estimated 30% of pet parents do not take their pet to a veterinarian annually for preventative care. To ensure the health and wellness of our beloved pets and to address this critical need, Lucky Two Times Animal Sanctuary and Advocacy Programs and Petco Love have partnered to make pet vaccines free and accessible.

Through this national effort, Lucky Two Times Animal Sanctuary and advocacy programs aim to vaccinate 300-plus pets during the event.
