FOOTBALL IS BACK!

Despite the summer’s heat, Fort Stockton High School football players returned to the field to begin practicing for the 2020-2021 season. Abiding by CDC and UIL guidelines to limit the spread of COVID-19, all coaches were required to wear a mask and athletes had to bring their own water bottles to practice. Social distance was maintained when possible. The first scrimmage of the season is on Aug. 20, 2020.

As the COVID-19 pandemic continues to grow, so does the “COVID-19 2020” installation at 209 W. 1st St., coordinated by Alpine artist Lori Griffin and owned by Fort Stockton local artist Steven Walker. The installation is looking to exhibit a total of 21 artists by its opening date on Sept. 5.
