...DANGEROUS WIND CHILLS AND BITTERLY COLD TEMPERATURES EXPECTED
EARLY NEXT WEEK...
A strong, Arctic cold front will arrive Sunday morning with strong
northerly winds and falling temperatures behind it. Temperatures
will quickly fall below freezing Sunday evening with overnight
lows Monday morning near record cold levels in the teens and 20's.
Wind chill values will be as low as zero degrees across much of
the Permian Basin Monday Morning! Temperatures will barely recover
above freezing before plummeting back into the teens and 20's
Take the necessary precautions if you plan to be outside during
an extended period during this cold snap, especially Monday
morning. Wear layers of loose-fitting, lightweight, warm clothing.
Also, wear a hat as much of your body heat is lost from your
Protect sensitive water pipes and ensure your heating system is
in good working order. Check on the elderly and ensure that
outdoor animals not suited for this prolonged cold have an
appropriate shelter with unfrozen water. Early season gardens and
cold sensitive vegetation may need to be covered or brought
