Violet ‘Vi’ Lucille Campbell Webster


Violet ‘Vi’ Lucille Campbell Webster of Fort Davis died at the age of 87 on Aug. 31, 2018 at Buckhorn Lake Resort & RV Park near Kerrville, Texas after traveling to see family.

Vi Webster was born February 1, 1931 in Akers, Missouri. She was baptized on March 22, 1959 in Prairie Village, Kansas.

After Vi graduated from High School she headed out for work selling magazines as part of a traveling crew. While on this traveling magazine crew she met her soon to be husband Danny Webster; they were married for 59 years when he passed away on Aug. 25, 2008.

Vi loved traveling, cooking for others, being a housewife, raising her children, and spending time with family. Her main career was working as her husband’s bookkeeper and secretary while he was in the insurance business.

She served on many community boards over the years as well as worked part-time taking the US Census four times in a row (span of 40 years), she also enjoyed helping ‘Senior Citizens’ with filing their annual income taxes.

Vi Webster was preceded in death by her loving husband Danny Webster, three brothers Mayburn Campbell, Charlie Campbell, David Campbell, two sisters Billie Campbell Tyrell and Evelyn Campbell Voegtly.

She is survived by her children – daughter Danna Y. Webster Auert of Fredericksburg, son Richard D. Webster and wife Barbara E. Webster of Harper, daughter Barbara Jean Webster Maddox and husband Harley P. Maddox Sr. of Fredericksburg and Ingram, and daughter E.E. Penny Webster Smith and husband Andy L. Smith of Fort Stockton. Also, brother Stan Campbell and sister-in-law Monte (David) Campbell both of Oregon, 10 grandchildren and 15 great grandchildren and one great-great granddaughter, and lots of nieces and nephews residing in Florida, Arizona, Washington, Oregon, and Alaska.

There will be a memorial service to be held in the Davis Mountains Resort (DMR) – Davis Mountains Community Church – a time and date to be announced later.
