The 135-foot-long Carnival Cruise Line's blimp made a stop Friday night at the Pecos County Airport on its nerly two week trek to Miami for Super Bowl LIV on Feb. 2.
The stop followed a 271-mile run Friday. The blimp will be parked overnight at the airport before resuming its trip Saturday.
The blimp is visible from the airport parking lot, but it cannot be approached by the public due to FAA rules covering pedestrians on runways.
The blimp will have shifts of security watching it around the clock.
We will have more on the blimp in the Thursday, Jan. 23 edition of The Pioneer.
