Spring Concert highlights vocal talents

Fort Stockton ISD showcases singers in grades 6 to 12


The Fort Stockton middle and high school choirs performed the Spring Concert Thursday, April 26 at the W.R. Weaver Auditorium on the high school campus.

The concert covered nearly two hours and highlighted a range of songs, style and performance formats.

A three-song performance by the Sixth Grade Choir, with a solo performance by Amber Navarro, Jessenia Ureste and Reanna Losoya.

The Seventh and Eighth Grade Mixed Choir performed three songs, with Tori Wilkins singing the solo in “Gloria in Excelsis Deo.” Danielle Dominquez performed as a soloist to “Il mio bel foco.”

Attendees also received a sneak peak of the school’s upcoming musical, “You’re a Good Man Charlie Brown,” with a performance of “My New Philosophy” by Jessenia Ureste as Sally and Eric “E.J.” Vazquez as Schroeder.

After intermission, performances were made by the Junior Varsity Women’s Chorus, with a solo performance by Emily Gonzalez of “Sure on this Shining Night.”

The Panther Chorale Rhythm Singers sang “All of Me” with solos by Bryant Carillo and Eric J. Vazquez, as well as “Lamentations of Jeremiah.”

Gabriel Natera performed solo on “Ride on King Jesus.”

The Varsity Choir did a medley of songs featuring the same four chords.

The show concluded with the UIL Mixed Chorus performing four songs, with a featured solo by Danielle Dominguez.
