The annual City Spring Cleanup Event, which will be held from Monday, April 13, 2020 to Friday, April 17, 2020, will have some changes this year. The clean-up focuses on items such as tree limbs, wood, furniture, appliances and tires.
Residential sanitation customers who pay for city sanitation services are asked to bring their items to the city landfill, 3400 Stone Road, between the hours of 8:30 a.m. and 4:30 p.m.
Citizens who cannot make a trip to the landfill – especially the elderly – are asked to call the city before Friday, April 10 to schedule a pickup. Phone numbers are (432) 336-8525 or (432) 336-3092.
County crews will be making pickups outside the city limits as has been done in previous cleanups.
Each customer will be allowed one free trip to the landfill during the cleanup week.
Customers are required to bring a copy of their most recent City Sanitation Utility bill, and also a valid State-issued identification, such as their Driver’s License, when coming to dispose at the landfill.
Bulks items must be separated before arrival at the landfill.
Tires must be whole and must not include rims.
As a reminder, city crews are never allowed to pick up bulk items inside private property.
Questions may be directed to the Public Works office at (432) 336-3092.
