Should you go to the hospital or stay home?

When should you go to the hospital and when should stay home?

It depends on whether you are experiencing severe or mild symptoms.

People with severe symptoms – difficulty breathing, a high fever (104 degrees), persistent chest pain or pressure, confusion or trouble responding, – should immediately call 9-1-1 or the emergency room at PCMH or IGH.

People with mild or non-severe symptoms should stay home and self-quarantine for 14 days – or until they feel better for more than 24 hours. Mild or non-severe symptoms are mild cold or flu-like symptoms, cough – but NO shortness of breath, body aches, fatigue, sneezing, runny nose, or sore throat.

Pecos County Memorial Hospital, Iraan General Hospital and Cactus Health remind people to telephone the hospitals or local clinics before coming in for treatment, especially if you are displaying symptoms of the Coronavirus.
