Amistad Properties is making fast progress on their second location of Fabian's Laundromat. The new location will be housed at the former Coin Laundry, which sits on the corner of US-385 and W. James (nearby Alamo Elementary).
“At the first location we went with a theme of FSISD sports on the inside. At this location, the murals on the inside will promote the entire town,” said Joe Hernandez of Amistad Properties.
Local muralist Indian Frank has already began painting iconic Fort Stockton images inside the new Fabian’s, such as Paisano Pete and the old railroad depot (Chamber of Commerce Visitor Center).
The brand new washers and dryers arrived right on schedule Monday, Nov. 20. The forthcoming facility also received its ice machine, which is has already been installed.
“The ice machine dispenses both ice and water. We’ll have outside seating and outdoor TVs just like the other location. The big difference is that it’s right next to a park, so we expect it to be a family oriented spot. It will be a nice addition to this side of town,” added Hernandez.
Amistad Properties is aiming to have the new Fabian’s open by the end of the month if no unforeseen set backs occur. The new location will cater to both the citizens living in south Fort Stockton and the travelers headed to far west Texas.
