Ruby Irene Parker of Texarkana passed away Wednesday, January 16, 2019, at the age of 77 years. She was born on January 15, 1942 in Big Spring, Texas, to Frank Timmins and Laura O’Brien Timmins.
Ruby was born and raised in Big Spring, TX. She married Melvin B. Parker on April 16, 1960, and they started their family in Walnut Creek, CA. They eventually relocated back to Texas finally settling in Fort Stockton where Ruby was a server at the Holiday Inn for over fifteen years. She and Melvin went onto raise three grandsons in Waco, TX then Winter Haven, FL while Ruby worked as a server and lead trainer for Cracker Barrel for over 15 years. She was a devout Christian and member of Calvary Baptist Church in Winter Haven, FL. She will be greatly missed and remembered for her humor, generosity, delicious cooking, and love for the Lord, her family and friends.
Ruby is survived by her husband, Melvin Burel Parker; her sons, Melvin Wayne Parker and wife Virginia of Texarkana, Ellis Parker and wife Lydia of Stafford; her daughter, Marilyn Nottorf and husband Eric of Keller; her sisters, Thelma Grace Snedigar, Annette Floy Eason; her grandchildren, Jonathan Parker, Jaden Parker, Sean Nottorf, Wendy Nottorf, Jared Parker, Zachary Parker, Chrystopher Parker, Keagan Parker, Tanner Parker; and her four great grandchildren.
Ruby is preceded in death by her parents, Frank Basil Timmins and Laura O’Brien Timmins; her daughter, Kathie Parker; her brother, Frank Basil Timmins, Jr.; her sister, Mable Lee Dickenson.
Visitation will be on Saturday, January 19, 2019 from 12pm-1pm at Heritage Funeral Home in Fort Stockton, Texas. Funeral Services will be on Saturday, January 19, 2019 at Heritage Funeral Home at 1pm in Fort Stockton, burial to follow at East Hill Cemetery.
