Prowlers will open playoffs against San Elizario

Game time, date and location TBD

After a third-place finish in 4A-District 2 play, the Fort Stockton High School softball team will face the second-place team from 4A-District 1, San Elizario.

The game will be played next week. The location, date and time have not been finalized, according to Prowler head coach Christa Carrasco.

The matchup will pit two district champions from one year ago.

The San Elizario Eagles (6-2, 17-9-1) play their final district game today against district champion Fabens (8-0, 16-9). Fabens won the first two meetings. The four-team district plays nine games.

For the Panthers (4-4, 17-10), district play ended Friday, April 12 with a 7-4 home loss to Monahans. The loss not only cost the team a chance to force a tie-breaker for second with Monahans, but also marked the team's first loss at home this season.
