The Fort Stockton Prowlers will face the Dumas Demons in the second round of the 4A softball playoffs.
The three-game series will start 6 p.m. Thursday at Lubbock High School (it was originally set for Estacado High School in Lubbock). The series will continue noon on Saturday with Game 2. If Game 3 is needed, it will be played 30 minutes after the end of Game 2.
Tickets will be $5 for adults and $3 for students.
The Prowlers (18-10), the third-place team from District 1, won their one-game Bi-District playoff game Thursday against the San Elizario Eagles by a score of 14-4. The Eagles were the second-place team from District 1.
Dumas (20-8) is the first-place team from District 4. Dumas went a perfect 8-0 in district and outscored their district opponents 140-10. Head coach Carlyn Tolleson is in her first season with the team.
Dumas beat Hereford two games to one in Bi-District. Hereford, a fourth-place team, scored seven runs in the bottom of the sixth to take the opener 11-10, but was crushed 24-14 in game two and 18-4 in game 3.
The Demons and Prowlers had one common opponent early in the season in Snyder. The Demons beat Snyder 14-7, while the Prowlers lost 6-5.
