Prowlers, Panthers head to Monahans for key district games

Fort Stockton heads down the road to Monahans tonight for a showdown with the Loboes.

The girls tip off at 6 p.m. while the boys start at 7:30.

For the girls, the game is the district finale. The Prowlers locked up second place in the district behind Seminole. A win would give them a season-sweep over all other district foes in Pecos, Andrews and Monahans.

The Prowlers are 5-2 in district play and 16-15 overall. Records around the district are as follows: Seminole 7-0, Fort Stockton 5-2, Andrews 4-3, Monahans 2-5 and Pecos 0-8.

For the boys, Monahans will be looking to avenge an earlier loss at Fort Stockton, 40-36.

The Panthers are in third place with two game left in district. Seminole is 5-0, Andrews is 5-1, Fort Stockton is 3-3, Monahans is 1-4 and Pecos is 0-5.

A win would lock up the No. 3 spot for the Panthers, who close out district with a Feb. 18 matchup at Seminole.
