Prowlers defeat Alpine in big win


Prowler Basketball picked up a big victory Tuesday night to improve to 3 – 3 on the season as they defeated Alpine 50 – 34 at the Special Events Center.

The Prowlers trailed early in the game 6 – 11 after the first quarter, but would end the half tied at 19. The Prowlers had a strong third quarter outscoring Alpine 15 – 6, followed by a fourth quarter outscoring Alpine by seven points to take a 50 – 34 victory.

Trinity Allen led the Prowlers scoring with nine points, followed by Chloe Crenshaw with eight points, Becca Rodriguez and Liz Matta with seven points each, Abby Garcia with five points, and Nellie Gonzalez and Krystal Porras with two points each.

The Prowler JV also picked up a decisive victory Tuesday night defeating Alpine 37 – 18.

Leading the JV scoring was Jocelyn Luna with 12 points, followed by Dania Mendoza with six points. Arissa Mesa, Alexia Rivera, and Desiree Blanco each added three points, followed by Bailey Galindo, Jaeda Luna, and Annika Melendez with two points each.

The Prowler teams will be in Denver City this weekend to compete in tournament play.
