Prowlers break the Midland Christian Mustangs


The Prowlers improved to 5-5 on the season with a 56-39 victory over the Midland Christian Lady Mustangs.

Prowler defense was led by Katie Salmon and Elizabeth Mata, as they led the Lady Mustang’s leading scorer to only four points. The defensive effort was completed with the assistance of Abby Garcia and Cassie Velasquez as the Prowlers forced the Lady Mustangs out of their game plan.

Offensively, the Prowlers’ efforts were led Becca Rodriguez and Enissa Sanchez taking the ball outside and making a total of six three-point shots for the Prowlers. Rodriguez finished the night with a total 15 points.

Also scoring for the Prowlers were Elizabeth Mata with 10 points, Chloe Crenshaw with nine points, Abby Garcia and Enissa Sanchez with six points each, Cassandra Velasquez with four points, and two points each by Krystal Porras, Becky Rodriguez, and Katie Salmon.

In JV action, the Prowlers fell 31-38 to Midland Christian in a close game Tuesday night.

Jocelyn Lujan led the JV with eight points, followed by Dania Mendoza with six points. The Prowlers also saw points from Andrea Pacheco and Desiree Blanco with two points each.
