In separate emergency meetings held concurrently at 2 p.m. Thursday, the Fort Stockton City Council and the Pecos County Commissioners Court each passed limited shelter-in-place orders.

The order were added to emergency declarations enacted by each body in late March.

The city's order requires all individuals anywhere in Fort Stockton to stay at home unless they are performing "essential activites," working at an essential business or obtaining services from the essential business.
