Pecos County Memorial Hospital welcomed a new addition to their team last week in the form of Family Nurse Practitioner Alyssa Frey.

Frey just started at the hospital in her position June 12, after doing all her training in the hospital.

She graduated from Chamberlain University and has her masters degree in the practice.

“I've always wanted to be a nurse,” she said.

She worked as a registered nurse for several years before her new position as FNP.

She said the staff at PCMH has been supportive and responsive in her learning process by teaching her the ropes.

She has plans to work Tuesday to Friday with later hours to accommodate patients schedules, and hopes to start seeing her own patients by July.

“Everyone is just so helpful and welcoming,” said Frey.

Frey and her husband live in Alpine where he works at Sul Ross University.

She is into cross fit, eating healthy and spending time with her English Bulldog.
