PCMH adds 3 new wellness programs

The Pecos County Memorial Hospital will be offering new cardiac and pulmonary wellness programs as of May 1.

There will be three programs offered, the first one being a cardiac rehabilitation program.

That program is designed for those with heart disease who need an extension of the programs for those with heart attacks.

A pulmonary rehabilitation program will be offered to help with breathing and doing more in daily life.

The third program will be the positive lifestyle change program.

This program will cost $40 a month and is for those who need a little extra monitoring when they exercise.

They will have a nurse on site to check vitals before and after exercising and they will be available to watch out for anyone who may pass out or lose consciousness.

The more personalized gym experience does not require a referral.

The staff will also help provide exercises and techniques to help reduce heart disease symptoms and resist respiratory flare ups.

To participate in the cardiac or pulmonary program you will need a doctor referral.
