Paul Casias is new council member

Alexander wins Mayor Race for third term


The election results came in on Saturday night and Paul Casias won a seat on the city council as well as Ruben Falcon who won re-election.

Chris Alexander won the race for Mayor bringing him into his third term.

New city council member Casias said that he is excited about the win and eager to get started.

“What I'm most looking forward to is fulfilling my duties as a council member and listening to the concerns of my constituents and promote the quality of life in our city,” he said.

Casias has lived in Fort Stockton his whole life and sits on many offices and boards.

The election saw a good turnout with 805 people voting, up from 180 people who voted last year.

Mary Ann Terrazas White had 338 votes, while Alexander came on top with 458 votes.

The race for city council member was close, Falcon had 334 votes, Casias had 312 votes, Ross Harper had 246 votes, Dino Ramirez Jr. had 199 votes, Oscar Hernandez had 125 votes and Mike Stallard had 117 votes.

For the Fort Stockton Independent School District Board, Alfredo “Freddie” Martinez won with 42 votes. Jill Foster received 22 votes.
