Panthers fall to Seminole in area game

Outscoring Seminole 36-28 in a second half rally left the Panthers comeback short Friday night as they fell 73-48 in the Area Game. Falling behind early in the game, the Panthers trailed 23-8 after one quarter and 45-12 at the half. However, the Panthers did not quit and gave their best effort to the end.

Scoring for the Panthers were Casey Nolen and Luis Guerra with 10 points each, Andric Herrera with seven points, Nick Johnson and Antonio Garcia five points each, Kobe Henderson with four points, Erik Bislar and Cole Daggett with three each, JT Marcom added one point for the night.

To sum up the season coach Richard Rojas said, “I am very proud of these young men. We took Consolation at Crane, Second at Reagan County, Third Place in District, and these young men won themselves a BI-DISTRICT GOLD BALL, something that had not been accomplished in awhile.”

This season also saw a Panther fans involvement high as this year’s team “also brought some excitement back to Panther Basketball and The SEC. The home crowds were amazing,” concluded coach Rojas as he thanked the community for the support.
