The Fort Stockton High School football team played the visiting Del Rio Rams in the final scrimmage before the start of the season next Friday.
The start of the varsity scrimmage was delayed nearly two hours as thunderstorms and lightening passed near Panther Stadium.
The Del Rio scored three times in the scrimmage. Fort Stockton did not score. They came frustratingly close as they had a first-and-goal on the Rams' one-foot line, but were unable to cross the goal line.
Del Rio, which plays in the state's largest level – 6A – provided the Panthers a great test prior to the start of their 4A Division 2 Friday, Aug. 31 at home vs. Kermit.
