Panthers' Daggett lands 1st-team all-state honors

Fort Stockton High School senior has added Class 4A 1st-team All-State linebacker to his lengthy list of football honors. The awards are determined by the Texas Sports Writers Association.

Daggett was also named to the 1st-team as a junior.

Daggett, who was also selected as the football MVP for both 4A-District 1 and The Pioneer's All-Pecos County team, sign a letter of intent Wednesday to attend Texas Tech as a preferred walk-on.

Dagget tore his ACL in his knee in the 1st quarter of the team's first-round playoff loss to Estacado. He cam back to play in the game. He underwent surgery in December and is progressing on his rehabilitation.

He was the school's lone representative on the All-State team, which includes 1st team, 2nd team and honorable mentions.

Cuero’s Jordan Whittington and La Vega linebacker Jared Rogers were the 4A-Div. I and 4A-Div. II players of the year.
