The Iran-Sheffield Independent School District Board of Education hire Matthew Luddeke as Iraan High School's athletic director and head football coach at a special meeting held Monday, April 29.
Luddeke comes to Iraan from Industrial High near Victoria, where he taught math and was the offensive coordinator for the varsity football team.
He grew up in Marion and earned his degree from Texas State University. He also has a master's degree in Sports Administration.
His wife of less than one year, Melissa, is also a teacher and has applied for a position with the district.
Industrial competes in 3A-1 District 14an compiled a 2-4 district mark and was 5-6 overall. The team finished fourth in district, but almost pulled off the upset in the Bi-District round, losing to Rice 21-14.
He was formerly at Navarro and LaVernia schools.
