Man in critical condition after being struck by car at local car wash


A 22-year-man is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle in the parking area of a Fort Stockton car wash Saturday, April 27.

According to Fort Stockton Police Chief Ryan Skelton, few details are currently available to the public. No charges have been filed or arrests made, and the case remains under investigation.

Neither the name of the victim, nor of the driver have been released.

Skelton said that investigators are in contact with the 112th District Attorney's Office. Once the investigation is complete, police will determine if any charges will be filed in conjunction with the district attorney's office.

Skelton said the police were dispatched to Car-isma Car Wash, 1701 W. Dickinson Blvd., at about 10:15 p.m. on Saturday, April 27.

According to Skelton, the victim was standing in the parking when he was struck by a vehicle being driven through the parking lot.

According to Skelton and a social media post by a relative of the victim, the man is in critical condition in the intensive care unit.

The victim's family has not granted any release of additional medical information, according to Skelton. It is known that the victim was flown in a helicopter from Fort Stockton to Odessa Medical Center.
