Man arrested for breaking into police department building

Around 7 a.m. Saturday morning, Fort Stockton Police officers responded to a burglary in progress at the temporary police building, located on West 3rd Street.

Officers arrived to find a man had broken into the front window of the building. The man had barricaded himself in the office he had broken into by placing furniture against the door.

While officers had him at gunpoint, other officers were able to break through the barricaded door.
