Hungrytown in concert at library Jan. 24

The Fort Stockton Public Library, 500 N. Water St., presents the return of celebrated folk/Americana duo Hungrytown. The free concert will be held 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 23

Back from a four-month tour of Great Britain last fall, Hungrytown is now on a three-month tour of the US south, southwest and California. Their travels over the past 15-plus years have taken them throughout the US, the UK, northern Europe and New Zealand.
Vermonters Rebecca Hall and Ken Anderson, who make up Hungrytown, have released three albums. Their latest, Further West, made the top 10 on the American Folk DJ charts for two months, and at least 14 “Best of the Year” lists. “Not only is this one of the best albums of 2015, it’s one of the best of the decade,” proclaimed New York Music Daily.
The duo’s songs and music have appeared in numerous television programs, including the Independent Film Channel’s, Portlandia, Comedy Central’s The Daily Show Neftlix’s comedy, Lady Dynamite, National Geographic’s Aerial America; as well as in many documentaries and major sporting events.
