Honoring a very special veteran

Donald Wayne Sloan

Donald Wayne Sloan

Oct. 22, 1922 - Nov. 22, 2009

Donald Wayne Sloan served his country first in North Africa. It was later, when he was in the infantry in World War II, that he received the Purple Heart for injuries he received during the infamous battle of Salerno, Italy. Many soldiers lost their lives in this unit.

We remember and salute Don and all those who served our country. They are true heroes.
