High school stages 'You're a Good man, Charlie Brown'

Play tonight with two shows Saturday


The Fort Stockton High School Theatre Arts department will present its first musical production in 10 years when students take the stage for “You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” 7 p.m. tonight and Saturday, May 5. A 2 p.m. matinee show will be held Saturday.

Performances will be held in the Fort Stockton High School W.R. Weaver Auditorium. Tickets are $5 each and will be available at the door starting 30 minutes before each show.

“You’re a Good Man, Charlie Brown” is a Broadway musical based on the classic “Peanuts” comic strip by Charles M. Schulz with words and music by Clark M. Gesner.

This amusing and heartwarming musical features Schulz’s iconic lovable loser, Charlie Brown, his imaginative pet beagle, Snoopy, and a whole cast of beloved characters including Lucy, Linus, Sally, Schroeder, and the whole gang!

FSHS Theatre’s production is directed by theatre teacher and director, Ms. Emily Olson with music direction by choir teacher and director, Mrs. Zendel Hernandez Trejo. This production stars ten talented students: Valerie Olson (Charlie Brown), Emily Gonzalez (Lucy), Sierra Leach (Linus), Qiara Alvarez (Snoopy), Jessenia Ureste (Sally), and Eric “EJ” Vazquez (Schroeder), with Audrey Gonzalez, Alec Velasquez, Felicity Subia, and Tristan Reyes rounding out the ensemble. Additional students work backstage helping with lights, sound, set, props, and more.
