Headstart celebrates Cinco de Mayo

Posted

Fort Stockton Headstart held a colorful outdoor celebration of Cinco de Mayo at Nunez Park, 407 S Main, Thursday, May 5. The fiesta showcased Mexican culture and heritage, combining education with fun. The children's parents snapped pictures as each classroom performed a lively dance routine.

Young girls twirled in their traditional dresses, all in Mexican flag colors of red, white, and green. Some of the boys wore fake mustaches and cowboy hats, and all amused the audience with their high-energy dancing. Headstart parents and staff set up food booths with a variety of selections, from horchata rice drink to chicharrónes smothered with hot sauce, and fresh fruit.
