Fort Stockton Community Theatre has lots coming up in the new few weeks, something for everybody.
Saturday, Feb. 17, the Nelson Street Theatre doors will open at 7:30 p.m. for Karaoke, With Love (contestants can sing any songs they choose; they don’t have to be “Love” songs). Competition for the new King and/or Queen of Karaoke will begin about 8 p.m. Kyle Card will be emceeing the evening, and Drew Rose will be running the computer to bring up your favorite songs to sing. Performers may bring their own instrument for accompaniment.
The winner(s) will be determined by the amount of tips brought in, so bring plenty of money to tip your favorite singer. The winners will receive a gift card from B’s Diner. All money brought in will go toward the Theatre’s Building-Renovation Fund. It’s family fun, so bring the family and friends for an evening of singing and laughter!
The third annual Silent Auction will be held in the lobby of First National Bank the week of March 19 - 23. Beth Holstein and Sarah Card are organizing the event, and they’ve already gotten some dandy handcrafted items, antiques, baked goods, and household decorations. If you have something to contribute to the auction, call Beth at 432-290-1113 or Sarah at 432-336-6610. Mark your calendars now to browse the items through the week of March 19 - 23 and get your bids down. First National Bank will once again host a Last Chance Reception on Friday, March 23, so you can make sure you get the item you want by writing in the last bid.
FSCT’s production of “Double Wide, Texas” by Jessie Jones, Nicholas Hope, and Jamie Wooten will open on Thursday, March 22, at 7:30 p.m. There will be a performance on Friday, March 23, after the Last Chance Reception. Dinner Theatre (steak and comfort food) will be on Saturday, March 24. There will be a matinee on Sunday, March 25, and the last two performances will be on Monday and Tuesday, March 26 and 27. Mark your calendar to attend at least one performance and watch for news about the cast and the story.
See ya at Karaoke, With Love on Saturday, Feb. 17 at The Nelson Street Theatre!
