Cricket Wireless selling affordable phones and more

The silence in Fort Stockton has been broken by the sound of Crickets. Not the chirping insects, but the many Cricket Wireless cell phones that stay ringing around the clock. The new Cricket Wireless store opened earlier this year, and is still looking to introduce first-time customers to their sleek sales floor.

“What makes Cricket stand out in Fort Stockton is our customer service," said Assistant Manager Michelle Hernandez. "We go above and beyond to help our customers with all of their needs. Whether they have a Cricket phone that's having issues or they're just trying to get started on their new phone, we're here to help. We'll literally help them set up their new phones, walk them through it, help them download the apps they want, help them transfer all of their pictures and contacts – whatever it is they ask us to help them with.”

Walking around Cricket's gallery of brand new prepaid phones, she continued, “Right now, we have great deals going on for the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus. We're making room for the iPhone 8, and hopefully we'll be getting in the new iPhone X soon as well.”

Elaborating on Hernandez's comment about iPhone sales, Store Manager Omar Magallanes said, “We've got much better prices than our competitors. The iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus have been marked down $100 dollars cheaper... People are excited about having this Cricket Store here. I'm from El Paso, where there's a Cricket on nearly every street corner. It's a good company, and we have the best deals around.”

Scanning the store with his eyes, Magallanes said, “I'm happy with how this location turned out. Our customers tell us all the time, 'Finally a Cricket opened up here, its about time'. Opening this location saved a lot of people here the gas on having to drive all the way to Midland or Odessa. I'm not from here, but I'm happy to introduce such a great brand to this community. It's affordable, and we're going to be saving people a lot of money.”

In addition to prepaid phones, the new Cricket store also carries a large variety of cell phone cases and accessories. Their diverse plans are designed to fit pretty much anyone, even the people who just simply want a phone to talk on, and not all of those fancy smartphone features that the youngsters enjoy so much.

Magallanes and Hernandez explained that Cricket is striving to be a community-oriented store, and will be featured in both the upcoming Homecoming parade and Headstart Trunk or Treat events this year.

Cricket is open seven days a week, Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. and Sunday from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m.
