County Commissioners, City Council set joint meeting for 6 p.m. Monday to discuss 100-person limit on outdoor gatherings

The Fort Stockton City Council and Pecos County Commissioners Court will hold a joint meeting 6 p.m., Monday, June 28 at the Pecos County Court House to discuss the 100-person limit placed on outdoor events by Gov. Abbott.

The governor's announcement Wednesday allowed local government entities to adjust the limits as needed. 

The discussion will undoubtedly include the upcoming Water Carnival.

On Thursday, both Mayer Chris Alexander and Judge Joe Shuster voiced support for having the event with precautions taken with the COVID-19 pandemic. Both men met with Water Carnival organizers later that day. 

Fort Stockton High School successfully held its 2020 graduation at the fotball stadium, with assigned seating, spacing requirements, capacity limits, screenings and entry and exit procedures.
