After a year-long hiatus, the Comanche Springs Pool opened today at 11 a.m.
Right now the pool has 13 lifeguard and 10 people working the concession stand for what is expected to be a busy year.
The pool also has a new handicap lift that will be available for those who have difficulty getting in and out of the water on their own. The lift consists of a sling that helps lower the person into the water.
The Pool will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Thursday to Sunday and closed on Mondays.
The fee is $1 per person. Children ages 5 and under enter for free.
The reopening of the pool also marks the return of the Water Carnival.
Skipped last year due to the pool's closing, the Water Carnival will be held July 18-20. Teh carnival's parade will be 10 a.m. July 20.
The Comanche Springs swimming pool underwent repairs last year to strengthen the concrete deck and cosmetic work to the pool grounds.
The pool is located at 200 W. Spring St. For more information, call (432)-336-2751.
