College, Career and Military Day

Fort Stockton High School hosted a college, career and military day to get the seniors thinking about what comes next after graduation.

Military branches, banks, the city and around 40 vendors showed up to give the students an array of choices.

“It gives our students a chance to explore all of their options,” said Junior and Senior Academic Counselor, Penny Dulaney. “It shows what they need to do and lets them speak to experts.”

Ashtyn Marquez, 17, is looking at going into nursing.

“I just really like helping people,” she said.

Sabrina Galindo, 17, hopes to go to Midland College and then transfer to Howard Payne University for nursing.

“My aunt has always inspired me,” she said. “She has been a nurse all her life and I want to be like her.”

Natalee Pacheco, 17, is looking for a place she can study aerospace engineering.

“I just like space and building stuff,” she said.

Other high schools attended the event as well including Sanderson, Pecos and McCamey.
