Christmas Parade tops local fun!

The Fort Stockton Christmas Parade, as of this morning, is still on for 6:30 p.m. Rain could cancel the parade. Check back with The Pioneer for updates.

The Annie Riggs Museum will be host their Open House tonight and will have photos with Elsa and Olaf from the Disney movie "Frozen."

Also, the Silent Auction for the Santa Hawg Joy run continues through 5 p.m. today at the chamber office.

Friday, Dec. 7

• The annual Fest of Sharing meal will be held at the Pecos County Civic Center, 1618 Airport Dr. from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The event is free to the public

• The Fort Stockton Christmas Parade, line up time is at 5:30 p.m. across from Comanche School on Rio St. Parade will begin at 6:30 p.m. To participate in the parade, pick up and drop off applications at the Fort Stockton Chamber of Commerce Visitor's Center at 1000 E Railroad Ave. Deadline for applications is Thursday, Dec. 6 at 5 p.m.

• Annie Riggs Memorial Museum Christmas Open House will be held after the parade at the museum, 301 S. Main St. Hot chocolate, cookies will be served. Elsa and Olaf will be on hand to take pictures with children.

Saturday, Dec. 8

• The Garage Coffee, Music & More’s 3rd Annual Santa’s Garage Christmas Market from 4 p.m. – 7 p.m. Children can visit with Santa from 5 to 6 p.m. and get their picture taken for free, while parents can shop for unique gifts and stocking stuffers offered by various local businesses, crafters, and artists.

• The Fort Stockton Community Theatre reservations for Dinner Theatre for the production of “A Doublewide, Texas Christmas” will be taken beginning Monday, November 26, at Fort Stockton Chamber of Commerce. Dinner Theatre will be on opening night of the play, Saturday, December 8, at 7:00 p.m. A traditional Christmas turkey dinner will be prepared and served by Michelle and Sal Salazar, Kathy and Randall Montanez, Tracy and Chris Alexander, Teresa Ballard, Belva Houston, Kay Griffith, and Michele Huckaby. Ticket prices are $30.00 per person for the dinner and the show. Seating is limited to fifty; so get your tickets by 4:00 p.m. Monday, December 3.

Sunday, Dec. 9

• Holiday Paint Party from 3-7 p.m. at the Large Community Hall in Rooney Park. Benefitting the Red TTA 12 and under volleyball team, the cost of the event is $10 for and $5 for children. Wooden holiday cutouts and canvases will be available to paint.

Monday, Dec. 10

Tuesday, Dec. 11

• Metal/Hard Rock band Void Vator will be performing at The Garage Coffee, Music & More. Doors open at 6:30 p.m., concert at 7 p.m. Tickets $5, kids seven and under get in free.

Wednesday, Dec. 12

• The Fort Stockton Community Theatre's production of “A Doublewide, Texas Christmas” will be performed at the Nelson St. Theatre at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10 for adults and $8 for seniors and students.

Thursday, Dec. 13

• "A Charley Brown Christmas" will be performed by the theatre department of Fort Stockton High School in the auditorium at 6 p.m. Tickets are $5 and includes refreshments.
