Charges in Dixon case dropped

All charges against former Fort Stockton High School teacher Danny Dixon, 60, have been dropped.

Dixon was charged with sexual assault, online solicitation of a minor and indecency with a child under 17-years-old for an alleged incident in 2017.

The case was set to go to trial this week. However, on Nov. 7 all charges were dropped due to the alleged victim being unwilling and unavailable to testify.

Assistant 83rd District Attorney Tommy Jackson filed the motion to dismiss the indictment without prejudice.

In April 2019, Dixon filed a motion to suppress evidence, which was denied as the court found the search of Dixon's residence and computer were done legally.

A motion to disqualify the judge in April 2019 was also found to be without merit.
