Pecos shocks Prowlers for first district win

The Pecos Lady Eagles entered last Friday’s District 3-4A matchup as the district’s cellar-dweller at 4-15 overall and winless in district play fresh off a 108-5 loss to Seminole, but a second half surge lifted Pecos to a 46-45 win over Fort Stockton, as the Prowlers did not score a field goal in the fourth quarter. The Prowlers led 30-19 at halftime as senior Sophia Hernandez dominated underneath in her return to action after missing much of the season with an injury.

Prowlers roll Monahans, fall to Andrews

The Fort Stockton High School Prowlers visited Andrews lasty Friday and, for a while, looked like they would escape with a key district win. But a fourth quarter surge by the Lady Mustangs resulted in a 47-35 loss. Thiara Wislar and Kailyn Reeves, both earned the title of top scorers in the basketball game, delivering standout performances during the match with 12 points each.

Prowlers suffer hard loss to Seminole

Walking onto the court at the Bill and Virginia Williams Special Events Center last Friday night, the Fort Stockton Prowlers knew they had a formidable task ahead of them. The Seminole Maidens came to Fort Stockton ranked No. 4 in the Class 4A TABC poll and were fresh off a 90-20 win over Andrews. The Maidens were as good as advertised in a 97-24 win over the Prowlers.
