County purchases new equipment for sheriff’s office, jail, Emergency Management

The Pecos County Sheriff’s Office is upgrading its equipment across the board, and the County Commissioner’s Court on Tuesday morning approved several items not only for the sheriff’s office, but for the county jail, Emergency Management, and the Emergency Operations Center. All the gear had previously been approved in the budget.

City approves amended lease agreement with Panther Pictures

Body
A larger-than-usual crowd attended Tuesday’s regularly scheduled Fort Stockton City Council meeting – all in support of Panther Pictures. Up for debate was the lease agreement between the city and the movie theater, with some changes requested that some in the community had expressed concern about to their city council representatives.

Inmate Arrest Reports

It is important to note that an arrest should not be considered as evidence of guilt. The defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.   

September 17 

*Jovan Soto, of Houston. At 4:31 a.m., FSPD officers apprehended Soto and charged him with Driving While Intoxicated BAC greater than 0.15 ($1,500 bond); released the next day. 

*Daniel De La Paz Rivas, of Fort Stockton. At 11:30 p.m., FSPD officers apprehended Rivas and charged him with Assault Causes Bodily Injury Family Violence; $4,000 bond set and still in jail.
