The Fort Stockton Pioneer is an award-winning community newspaper located in the county seat of Pecos County along I-10 midway between San Antonio and El Paso. We are currently seeking local candidates for a reporting position covering Fort Stockton and Pecos County.
This person will be expected to be active on social media and have the ability to promote their stories to generate audience engagement.
Candidates should be self-driven, deadline oriented, and able to cover meetings and events in the evening and on weekends as required, submitting stories and photos within a short time after the conclusion of each function. You must be able to work independently, without constant direct supervision while also being able to function as a contributing member of our newspaper’s small newsroom staff. Travel to local, regional, and state events is a part of the job and candidates should have reliable transportation and be available to meet these requirements.
